Climbing – Joining Instructions

I’m thrilled you’ve decided to join me for a day of climbing. No matter if you’re touching the rock for the first time or brushing up on your skills , we’re here to ensure you have a safe, enjoyable, and memorable experience on the rock. Below you’ll find all the information you need to prepare for your day climbing.

What to Expect

  • Meeting Point: The meeting location for our day of climbing will be provided a couple of days in advance. Please ensure you’re ready for an exciting day, starting at 9:00 AM and wrapping up around 5:00 PM.
  • Schedule: The day will begin with a brief introduction and safety talk. We’ll cover climbing techniques, equipment use, and environmental considerations. After that, it’s onto the crag for a full day of climbing, with breaks for lunch and rest as needed.

What to Bring

  • Climbing Equipment: If you have your climbing own gear, feel free to bring it along, otherwise I can provide harnesses & helmets.
  • Footwear: Please wear sturdy boots or shoes for walking up to the crag. If you don’t have climbing shoes, sturdy boots or shoes are best to climb in and not trainers.
  • Clothing: Wear comfortable and flexible clothing suitable for an active day outdoors. Dressing in layers allows you to adjust to changing weather conditions. Please don’t forget a waterproof as they are good for keeping out the wind as well as rain.
  • Food and Water: Bring a packed lunch and plenty of water to stay hydrated. High-energy snacks are also recommended to keep your energy up throughout the day.
  • Personal Items: Don’t forget to pack sunscreen, sunglasses, a hat, and a rucksack for your personal items. A camera or phone is also a good idea to capture the day’s memories.

What if the Weather is Wet?

The UK weather can be unpredictable, but don’t worry; we have plans for all conditions::

  • Light Rain: We can often continue climbing at sheltered crags or focus on techniques that can be practiced under cover.
  • Alternative Activities: If the weather turns against us with heavy rain, we’ll can opt for a scenic walk in the area. This alternative ensures you still get to enjoy the great outdoors and learn about the local environment.
  • Cancellation/Rescheduling: Safety and enjoyment are our priorities. If the weather looks to be unsafe or significantly unenjoyable, we’ll offer options to cancel or reschedule.

Ready for Adventure?

We’re excited to have you join us for a day of adventure and learning on the rock. If you have any questions or need further information, please don’t hesitate to get in touch.
