Taking Dax to the Lakes

This was my first weekend of freedom, so decided to get away to the Lake district. It was a long drive up after work and did not get to Keswick till 10.30pm. Really struggled to find a campsite so decided to sleep in the car. It was actually alright and got a good nights sleep. This really proved to me that a Van will be the best move. I would love the freedom to go where and when I want without having to book or worry about campsites. Saturday mThis was my first weekend of freedom, so decided to get away to the Lake district. Setting up camp is a struggle on your own with a 5 man tent. Van proven to be a good move again! Dax and myself when out for an afternoon walk across the fells the back of the campsite. In the evening we walked to Keswick there was a light and firework show, hundreds of people were sitting in the park watching the fire show in the lake. On Sunday morning we started our walk round to cat bells over the top the other side round the back of Derwent water and back into the campsite. We start at 10 am and didn’t finish until 4pm, little Dax struggle in parts but generally he was fine getting overall rocks. With sore legs on Monday morning we packed up camp and soon made our way back Milton Keynes.orning I got into Castlerigg Farm campsite. It was a bit of squeeze but set up fine.
